CoGlo Amigos, The Palladian Group and SCETV announced a partnership in August 2021, with an initial contract for ten 1- to 2-minute interstitial videos. In the partnership announcement, network President and CEO Anthony Padgett said, “At SCETV, we’re always looking for new ways to support early learners, their parents and educators. That’s why we’re proud to partner with The Palladian Group to bring this curriculum-aligned content to our airwaves through ‘Annabelle.’”

We have also found that teachers are taking the materials and developing their own lessons. “I would use the books to introduce feelings and how to manage them. Each animal in the story has a particular character trait that I would use to increase social emotional awareness and increase vocabulary,” one wrote. One class held a birthday party for Annabelle and each student made her a birthday card. Another incorporated Annabelle into her class’s morning meeting, ending each one with “Best Morning Meeting, Ever!” – a play off of Annabelle’s catchphrase, “This is the best day ever!”

This vibrant early learning safari with Annabelle the giraffe and Leonard the lion is grounded in Albert Bandura’s social learning theory and key ideas from Piaget, Vygotsky, and Gardner. Bandura emphasized that children learn by observing and imitating role models. Through engaging characters and storytelling, children absorb new behaviors, language, and problem-solving strategies in a motivating and memorable way. Research in early childhood education further confirms that play-based, multimodal learning enhances engagement, memory, and kindergarten readiness. This program aligns with best practices and well-established developmental theory by blending storytelling, animation, and hands-on learning.
